Magnet Program

The Islesboro Central School Magnet Program creates an opportunity for mainland students in grades 5-12 to experience

Magnet Students
the unique and individualized learning opportunities that are available to island students.

Why Islesboro?

Housed in a spectacular historic building, ICS provides a private school atmosphere within a public school setting. In addition to receiving the finest education in core classes of math, science, English and history, our students enjoy excellent instruction in the visual arts, music, foreign language, horticulture and computer science.

The comfortable atmosphere of ICS fosters interaction between elementary, middle and high school students on a daily basis. With an average class size of 10, students develop strong relationships with their teachers and peers.  These connections create the perfect blend of a community-learning environment while allowing students to discover themselves as an individual.
