Islesboro Central School is pleased to announce they have recently hired Lindsay Dakers as their Middle School and High School counselor. Lindsay is joining Islesboro Central School with a background in career and technical education, alternative education, and the coordination of middle and high school career and college readiness programs for rural Maine schools. Most recently she served as the multiple pathways coordinator for Mount Abram Regional High School, located in Franklin County. Lindsay is from the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, but has lived in the mountains of Western Maine for the last ten years. Lindsay has a degree in Culinary Arts from the Culinary Institute of America, a Bachelor of Arts in Natural Science from Northern Vermont University, and a Master of Science in School Counseling from Gwynedd Mercy University. Lindsay’s education and training in school counseling are based on the American School Counselor Association’s (ASCA) National Model. Lindsay is looking forward to supporting Islesboro’s students in their academic and postsecondary planning, and she has a strong commitment to ensuring social/emotional learning supports for all students. Outside of working with students, you’re likely to find Lindsay trying to keep up with her two children on skis or a bike. She and her family are excited to relocate to and explore the midcoast area. |
