Poetry Alive

Sunday, May 1st, at 3:00pm, in the ICS library, everyone is invited to attend Poetry Alive, a performance showcasing the poetry of ICS students published in the Island Reader, an annual anthology which contains work by Maine's midcoast island writers and artists.

The event is being coordinated by the Children's Theater program, the Island Reader, and Melissa Olson of the ICS library.  It honors the student poets and the ongoing efforts of ICS teachers and administrators who value, support and promote the literary and performing arts.

Friends, family members, teachers and the public of all ages are invited.

Please bring some simple food or drink to share with others at the informal reception that follows.

Schedule

2:00pm        Magnet students, families and friends take the 2pm ferry from Lincolnville. **
2:30pm        Students who are reading and reciting meet at the ICS gym for warm-up and rehearsal.  Guests gather in the                               library.
3:00pm        Poetry Alive readings in the library, followed by reception and refreshments.
4:30pm        Magnet student families and friends leave on the ferry.

** Transportation will not be provided by the school. Magnet families will need to set up their own transport to and from the school.
