Health Aide

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma.

Able and willing to maintain confidentiality of health information.

Recommended Qualifications:

Current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid. Experience/training in a school or health setting.

Reports To:

School Nurse and Head of Schools

Duties and Responsibilities:

• With appropriate training and certification, the health aide will:

• Administer first aid when necessary.

• Assist with medication administration.

• Follow school procedures for care and reporting of injuries and illness. Consult with the school nurse and/or Health Center regarding unusual or acute problems.

• Manage a supply of personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Assist with the tracking and reporting of attendance.

• Maintain student health and immunization records.

• Assist with vision and hearing screenings.

• Support students and staff with hand hygiene education.
